The home tab in Slack serves as your dashboard for Jira from Slack. Take advantage of this powerful interface to reduce context switching between Slack and Jira.

This page allows you to:

  • View a list of issues
  • Create New Issues
  • Search for Jira Issues
  • Assign Issues
  • Add Comments
  • Manage your settings

View a list of issues

Looking at a list of issues that you care about is easy with our home tab list views.

Follow these simple steps to configure your dashboard view:

  • Open Slack and navigate to the Apps section
  • Click on the bot Jira Integration+
  • Find the button Change
  • Select your preferred search from the pre-defined list or write your own query with JQL

This area will now show you a list of issues matching your search preference and will always show you the latest issues matching your query.

Create New Issues

Creating issues from the home screen is the easiest way to create new issues in Jira without switching context.

  • Open Slack and navigate to the Apps section
  • Click on the bot Jira Integration+
  • Find the button Create
  • Create your issue

Search for Jira Issues

Use the Find Issue button to find an issue in Jira from Slack. Search by name, description or issue key.

  • Open Slack and navigate to the Apps section
  • Click on the bot Jira Integration+
  • Find the button Find Issue
  • Enter your search terms

Assign Issues

Assign issues from Slack by using the Assign button.

  • Open Slack and navigate to the Apps section
  • Click on the bot Jira Integration+
  • Find the button Assign
  • Choose your issue(s)
  • Choose user(s) to re-assign

Add Comments

Assign issues from Slack by using the Comment button.

  • Open Slack and navigate to the Apps section
  • Click on the bot Jira Integration+
  • Find the button Comment
  • Choose your issue(s)
  • Add your comment

Manage your settings

Change your user notification settings with the Settings button.

  • Choose your notification preferences.
  • Choose your create issue defaults.
